We believe that Raleigh is a city of storytellers.
That’s why we want to amplify the quirky, the authentic, the
unabashedly human work of Raleigh’s genre fiction scene. Oak City Vault is a platform for local writers to place their work in front of speculative fiction lovers everywhere. That means no big names. No pretensions. And, though we hope it goes without saying, no AI.
This anthology is also for you, dear reader. After all, without you to read them, these stories are just words.
Our first issue’s theme is “Uncharted Ways,” selected to ring in an era of new frontiers, new ideas, new horrors. Our authors have risen to the challenge of that theme in ways we never could have expected. Who knows?
Maybe they’ll inspire you to tell a few stories of your own.
